To make the whole world smile and see where I can be of any help
Random, slightly eccentric Englishman who, tired of the life in which one finds himself is looking at striking out and finding my way in this big, wide world. I believe myself to be an amiable, polite and respectful person (I know, exciting right?...) but I am very interested in all cultures and am keen to learn more.
Whilst I can't guarantee your enjoyment of my company, I am possibly the most laid back person in the world, and I really enjoy meeting new people and listening to new stories, everyone has their own to tell.
To not let mistakes become regrets, and trying to take that chance when it comes up, whatever it may be. I see the world as equal and wish to find out as much as I can about the world and people within it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Random adventure, there is often no rhyme or reason behind the trips I take, more just giving myself up relying on the world to put in my way good people and fun times.. so far.. so good :)
First trip with CS just completed, and wow.. Amazing time was had. 2 weeks in sunny California, met some very cool people and had a great time. All the CS'ers I met were without fail friendly, and a little crazy (the good kind) and I know my path will cross with a few of them again somehow. a precursor to bigger and longer adventures, but a wonderful one indeed :)
I love to learn, there is knowledge to be found everywhere. trying new languages, foods, cultures history and more.
Music, Movies, and Books
City of God, The Shawshank Redemption, The Matrix(s), Stickmen, Anchorman, Into the Wild, Full Metal Jacket, Intacto, Baseketball, and many others that are not coming to mind.
Instrumental over computerized but that isn't exhaustive, currently on my list include Pearl Jam, The Who, Beatles, Ben Harper, Counting Crows, Bob Marley, Natalie Merchant, Rage against the Machine, Queen, The Beatles, Steven Lynch.
To Kill a Mockingbird, just discovered Pratchett and going through the guards trilogy. Mexico - James Michener, anything Isabel Allende, also new to graphic novels and so far V for vendetta, Watchmen and DMZ are my favorites thus far.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teotihuacan ruins just outside Mexico City and Kanchanburi in Thailand (bridge over the river Kwai) are the 2 that spring to mind, such diverse cultures and history attached to them both for very different reasons. Such amazing people in both locations, recommended very highly :)
