About Me

CURRENT MISSION

When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge.

ABOUT ME

I am enterprising, communicative, open-minded, curious and interested in human behaviour/psychology/brain research and photography. I am also interested/I also like languages, language teaching (which means I like my job!) , (freestyle) dancing, yoga, flora and fauna, snorkelling, and travelling (of course)...
also I like trying new things which does not mean that they have to turn into a new hobby. I just try things maybe only once for the sake of fun and experience. I tried canyoning, hot air balloon flying, jet skiing, water skiing (wakeboarding was a TOTAL fail:-( ), diving, surfing, rock climbing... I hope there is more to come...
In addition to my active side there is also one which enjoys being lazy in a homely atmosphere.

Travellling is important to me because I have the feeling that I am more "me" when I am free of daily routines and the growing requirements of my job. Only then can I unfold my interest in other people's views and ways of life, in other cultures and my eyes can fully open up to nature's beauty.
As host I can offer a place to stay but hardly any "entertainment" because my job takes up most of my time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in the importance of broadening one's mind. In my opinion one of the best ways to achieve this is by travelling - I am not thinking of holiday trips organized by others, not of travels in the safety of a group but of indivual travels which lead to openness to new contacts and which allow spontaneity. Travelling helps me understand people's views, actions and re-actions and this understanding has lead to more tolerance and to a sensitive approach to people of other cultures (I hope;-)).

But I know the restrictions of a small budget. I like the concept of sharing and helping other people to be able to travel.
And in a world in which radio/television/online news are full of negative sides of human behaviour, full of reports about deceit and violence... I find it important to still believe in the good sides of man and to trust each other.

These are the main reasons why I registered with couchsurfing.
