COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the pleasure of hosting a number of Couchsurfers in the past, all of them very positive experiences. I have also surfed on a couch one, also a very positive experience

兴趣

I am a competitive Scrabble player, having participated in tournaments for 16 years. I have played in Spanish, too, having represented the United States at two world championships. I love to listen to jazz recordings. (I have a particularly large collection and knowledge of creative music.) On occasion, I express myself artistically through poetic composition.

I love jazz, especially free improvisation. My favorite artists include Anthony Braxton, Cecil Taylor, Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, Jack DeJohnette, Mary Halvorson, Jason Moran and Evan Parker, just to name a very few. I also listen to some nonjazz stuff. I love West Coast lo-fi/antifolk stuff from the 80s,90s,2000s.

My favorite reading is Latin fantastic literature, my especially Borges and Cortázar. My favorite poets are E.E. Cummings and Jack Kerouac.

Seeing the sites in Peru, especially visiting Ollantaytambo and watching the annual Inti Raymi festival in Cuzco.
