Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Simple answer: I love hosting people. My favorite part of traveling is hearing the stories of the people I meet. By hosting I get to do that, but I don't have to buy plane tickets.

Philosophical answer: We are humans, and couchsurfing is part of us. Welcoming a stranger to your fire, being good to them without condition, and learning from them is what allowed our species to survive. And while the modern world puts our friends at our fingertips but further from our reach, we resist by gathering again by the fire and rekindling hospitality.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went jogging in Japan in the middle of the night in a rainstorm. Came across a kitten with no mother in the middle of the road. Took it home and took care of it until I could find a new home for it.
