About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Shore leave after a long time at sea
ABOUT ME
I am an easy-going guy who loves meeting new people. I have been an avid traveler in the past, but now I am looking to settle down, preferably in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was well on that path when I was offered the opportunity to be the first mate of a sailboat from Israel to the Caribbean. It's just the sort of adventure that would only happen to a guy like me; I'm incredibly lucky sometimes.
PHILOSOPHY
To every "Why?", a good answer is usually "Why not?".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm looking to find a couch in the short-term, but plan on opening up my couch as soon as I have one to offer again.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I lived in a student co-op throughout my years in college. I have stayed in the homes of people in places as far-flung as Paris, Buenos Aires and Nairobi.
Interests
I like sailing (obviously), literature, good beer and fancy homecooking. I prefer the mountains to the beach, like the classic more than the modern and choose fruit over chocolates when it comes to desserts.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like indie rock, mostly, and some alt-country stuff. (think Neutral Milk Hotel, My Morning Jacket, Holopaw, Wilco, Jolie Holland)
The last books I've read that have been great are "Shantaram", "Cryptonomicon" and "The Lazarus Project". I'm a big fan of DFW and I didn't really like "Let the Great World Spin" all that much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe sailing from Israel to Barbados counts?
