About Me
I was born and raised in Georgia and moved to Seattle about a year and a half ago with a few friends from college. Shortly after, one of those guys told us about Couchsurfing, and from that point on we hosted guests pretty much continuously until we moved out of our place a few months ago. My original roommates are off on their own travels now, but my new roommate Alonzo and I are eager to get back to hosting and meeting people, and showing them the city we've fallen in love with!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of my favorite memories in the last year have been times spent with Couchsurfers from all over the world. I've met a lot of amazing people and made some great new friends through Couchsurfing, and I'm continually blown away by how many interesting and unique people travel through this site. I also don't get to travel as much as I wish I could, so the next best thing is hearing stories and experiences of people from other places.
Interests
I'm really into music, and I love exploring new artists and going to live shows. And I'm pretty much always down for dancing. I was exposed to a lot of new and unique indie music going to school in Athens, GA, and I've had a lot of great experiences at music festivals like Bonnaroo and Sasquatch.
I try to stay relatively active, and love going hiking and camping around Seattle when the weather cooperates (which is probably more often than you would guess for Seattle!). I also play soccer, frisbee, and other sports here and there with my roommate and other friends.
I am a programmer and have some typical "nerdy" interests - I play video games, follow tech news, have a fair number of gadgets, etc. But I usually get my fair share of that stuff at work, so don't worry if that sort of thing bores you to death!
I still have a lot to see and experience in this city, so I'm always interested in finding new things to do and places to see, but I also have no problem with just staying in and spending time with a good group of people. I'm really very easy going overall and can be content with pretty much anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - The Strokes, Dr. Dog, Of Montreal, Reptar, Disclosure, LCD Soundsystem, Kendrick Lamar, Courtney Barnett, Beach House, Mac Demarco, Outkast, Run the Jewels, Caribou, Hot Chip. I could go on and on so I'll just stop there
Books - My favorite type of books are Sci-Fi and Fantasy series with detailed worlds (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Isaac Asimov series). Beyond that, most of the books I read are either recommendations or just interesting finds from used book stores, so they end up being pretty all over the place.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in around 11 years old, my mom home-schooled me and my sister for half a year while we traveled through the eastern US in a camper. We slowly made our way up the coast all the way to Canada, then back down along the Mississippi, staying at camp sites all along the way. That trip really opened my eyes to how many beautiful places there are to see around this country, and how liberating it can be to just drop everything and be on the road for a while.
