About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I spent my college years in Israel, I'm a lieutenant in the Guard, and am a history teacher by trade. Ultimately I'm just a guy from Texas who's trying to get as much out of life as possible. I love traveling, reading, and experiencing new things.

PHILOSOPHY

Be patient and understanding, everything else will fall into place after that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm recently married, and living on an Army base, so unfortunatly I won't be hosting any time soon. My roommates and I did some hosting in college and we put on a barbecue for the local CS community. It was awesome getting to meet some other surfers and trade stories and experiences. I hope to attend more functions in the future.

Interests

All sorts of movies, books, people, and music. I love playing guitar, ukulele, and jamming with weird instruments as much as I love history and politics, old maps, useful procrastination, anything to do with languages, philosophy, world religions, cultures, and the like.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any films associated with the Coen Brothers, Tarantino, George Romero, and Rod Serling. Bad movies that are so bad they're great, zombie films, epic war movies.

Folk, Bluegrass, anything with a banjo basically, Minor Threat, Champion, Fun, George Formby, Desmond Dekker, great jams from the 90s, 80s punk, old school hip-hop.

Charles Romalotti, Rob Bell, Chuck Palahniuk, Michael Chabon, anything absurd, historical or alternative history sci-fi, Friedrich von Hayek, literary classics, The Stranger, 1984, many things political and economic.
