ABOUT ME
My friends would say that I'm extremely nice, thoughtful, and honest. I don't talk very much, yet I'm outgoing. I like meeting new people and trying new things.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
You may notice that I am not "verified" by CouchSurfing.org but that is because I refuse to pay $25 for them to send me a post card. Google search me, I'm a real person.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I just joined Couch Surfing.org, but I've done quite a bit of surfing through friends of friends. I also lived at a house in Maine that hosted many couch surfers and met some really amazing people that way.

I really like music, all kinds of music. When I go to a new city I always find a local record shop and ask what the best local band is. I'm also a filmmaker so I like movies especially experimental films. I guess I like interactive and performance art. I also really like sailing. I've been sailing my whole life and even worked on a Tall Ship in Maine. I like other sports too like biking and climbing and snowboarding, but sailing is my favorite.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Right now I'm reading "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and I'm really enjoying it. I like "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close", "Fahrenheit 451", "Into the Wild", and more books that I can't think of right now.
Since I went to film school people assume that I am a film snob. I disagree with this. Yes it takes a lot for me to like a movie, but I'll give most movies a shot. Also my new criteria for a good movie is if it looks like it was fun to make. With this said some of my favorite movies are "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou", "Dog Town and Z Boys" "Who is Bozo Texino", and . My favorite directors are Wes Anderson, Michel Gondry, Jan Svenkmajer, The Quay Brothers, Maya Daren, Warren Miller, Stan Brakhage, Norman McLaren, Bill Daniel, The Coen Brothers, and Stacy Peralta.
This is one of the most amazing films I've seen, and it's so much better seen as a film print! http://www.nfb.ca/playlists/mclaren/viewing/Pas_de_deux/#panel2
Everyone says that they like all kinds of music, except country. I don't believe these people, because I bet they don't like hebrew choirs, or Chinese flutes. I'm not going to say I like all kinds of music. I do like most artists on Rhymsayers, and Anticon records. Four bands I've been obsessed with this year have been First Aid Kit, The Tallest Man on Earth, Here We Go Magic, and Guantanamo Baywatch. If you've heard of these bands you'll notice the strange mix of Bluegrass/Folk and Indie/Punk/Surf Rock. Of course I'm not limited to these bands or genres but this is a good start.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I think every time I see a meteor shower I'm awestruck. I've always wanted to see the northern lights, but I've never had the chance to.

I can teach you how to bake bread, or play chinese checkers, or how photography works. I will probably blab about mycology or some obscure fact about the solar system or pre-colonial America.
I want to learn how to scuba dive, how to build a bicycle powered projector, and how to navigate the ocean. But I don't expect to learn those things right away.
