ABOUT ME

Hey guys,

My name's Mitch, i'm 25 from Perth, Western Australia.
I currently work full time and study full time and try to have a social life in there somewhere :)
I try and get away on holidays at least once a year and always try to pick somewhere different... so much to see but so little time.
I often wish I had the strength to just halt my life and go backpacking around the word for a few years and one-day i just might.

I love travelling alone because you have to throw yourself into the country you're in, mingling with the locals and making friends along the way. Throw in "unique" cuisine and those are things i remember most about my travels... the company & the food.

I'm currently in my final year at university doing a Bachelor of Arts; Double Major in Advanced Japanese & Global Studies. I've been studying Japanese for about 8 years and hope to think i'm becoming fluent.

My friends would describe me as a little quirky, friendly and funny. People often comment on my laugh.. though i never understand why.. seems normal to me :)

I havent yet but looking forward to experience travelling the CS way and meeting some great new people I would have never have been able to otherwise.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never couch-surfed before but a few friends have told me that they've met some great people and made life-long friends using this site so it sounds like much more fun then staying in an empty hotel room. It reminds me of being home-hosted in Japan when I went there as an exchange student 12 years ago. I still stay with the same family everytime I return to Japan.

Interests

I have a real passion for asian cultures, love everything and anything about them. Otheriwse it's the usual's; travelling, nice wine, good company, trashy reality tv shows :)
I'm slighty obsessed with K-Pop. I dont have a clue what they're singing but I love it anyways.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Kpop. Obsessed. Otherwise it depends what mood im in... anything from dance to indie.

Movies - The scarier the better, but again it depends on the mood im in.

Books - I love reading real-life memoirs. I have this obsession with reading about western prisoners locked up in foreign jail's. I'm currently reading Newjack which is about Sing-Sing prison in NY.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't pinpoint the one amazing thing i've seen or done... so many memories from so many different things.
Though perhaps sitting in a hot spring in the Japanese countryside with a glass of wine whilst snowflakes fell on me could top the list.
