About Me
ABOUT ME
Equal parts nomadic and nesting in nature, life came full circle when I returned to Germany, my place of birth, in 2001. I lived there for just over ten years.
Now married, my wonderful husband Shawn and I are on sabbatical through Asia and beyond; we're contemplating where our next home will be.
We're both passionate about international relations, learning, exploring new corners of the world and crossing paths with new friends.
PHILOSOPHY
The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one's own country as a foreign land. ~G.K. Chesterton
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm rather new to CS, however, have been showered with kindness during past travels: a Maltese fishing family I befriended in a colorful harbor invited me onto their boat, and later their home where they cooked a special fish platter; Bahraini acquaintances whisked me around their city during Ramadan, exposing me to a new culture while epitomizing Arabian hospitality. I've been touched by so many thoughtful acts of kindness from strangers and would like to give back somehow...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watched the Taj Mahal's changing hues at sunrise; saw Petra illuminated with a warm, candlelight glow at night; rode a gentle giant (elephant) through the waters outside Luang Prabang, Laos; taught eager learners of English in Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia.
