关于我

Yo, what’s good! I am a traveler and aspiring artist who is currently traveling and wwoofing in western US. Best part of traveling is meeting people, learning from them and sharing in their experiences. That’s how you gain new perspective, which in turn makes you re-examine what you value in new and exciting ways.

音乐、电影和书籍

Recently saw Once Upon a Time in America and The Farewell, both of which I deeply enjoyed. I’m also currently reading Dune! I’ve been on it for minute but whenever I sit down with it my mind is blown.

If you want a music recommendation check out this awesome band called Inti-Illimani. They’re this Chilean folk band that a friend randomly showed me and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since. There music is definitely rooted in traditional music but they also implement so many different styles and instruments (dope woodwinds), sometimes incorporating what to me sounds like jazz, bluegrass, and chamber music. Check out La Maquina del Tiempo by them.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I hiked the High Tatras mountains in Slovakia! While it wasn’t a super steep climb or anything I found it pretty harrowing because 1) I have a fear of heights and have never hiked that high up 2) The day I hiked was the first snowfall of the year and 3) For some reason I decided to hike alone because I wanted to do a solo hike (I’m dumb). On top of that when I got to the top I couldn’t see anything cause it was too foggy. W h o o p s

But! Through the thick of it all it truly was an awesome experience. Even though I was very worried at points the feeling of accomplishment after reaching the top was super satisfying. I felt elated for the rest of the day. And after doing it I now have the confidence to tackle all sorts fun and difficult hikes.

I remember at one point about halfway through my ascent I was becoming more and more anxious; I started to look over my shoulder from time to time and began to realize how high I was. It was also getting snowier and more difficult to see the trail. I looked up and around at some surrounding cliffs and mountain peaks, and I noticed some movement up there off in the distance; a few tiny dots prancing about, zigzagging across the steep slopes. I was like “Oh shit!” and felt like I was in a nature doc for a second. But that moment really grounded me, seeing those elk-like creatures move gracefully along the mountain as if it were no big thing. Compared to them I had it easy. So that was a great bit of perspective that helped push me forward.

I like to think I am a product of all those who who came before me, those whose presence I came into contact with and valued. Hopefully I can impart some of that onto you, and you can do the same onto me!
