About Me
CURRENT MISSION
all of life has so much to offer in soooo many spheres!
ABOUT ME
i'm married with two adult children in the house and a granddaughter (I have six kids total...three married!) i'm quite busy with work...as i'm in private practice as an internal medicne doctor. i tend to go to bed early (like about 10PM); i also get up quite early (...and usually leave the house around 6 am.) i like all kinds of new adventures! i like to travel some place different each time...and love to experience new foods and customs and cultures.
PHILOSOPHY
i treat others as i would like to be treated. i believe in respecting all people and all cultures as each of us are wonderfully and powerfully created.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
this is a great concept! usually we host.....but with all the folks in the house----we usually can only accomodate one at a time.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
we've always had the super nice folks stay with us! great experiences around!
Interests
love smooth jazz! i'm a very avid bicyclist.....and typically will put two thousand miles on my bike in a year. i really enjoy working out every morning (unfortunately i also REALLY enjoy eating....just about every cuisine; hence the never ending struggle...) i'm an avid skier and hold an advanced scuba license as well as private pilot license. i thoroughly enjoy traveling...and don't really care to travel to the same place twice. i like doing humanitarian service. i'm a person of great faith...but don't impose my beliefs on anyone; i think that's an intensely personal decision.

Music, Movies, and Books
my reading intersts are really diverse....every thing from celtic history to particle physics to sci-fi/fantasy to contemporary non-fiction to religious studies to gardening. you name it. perhaps "eclectic" would best define my bookself.
with music...mostly world music and smooth jazz. i like most anything mainstream rock
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
once a year, usually over my birthday, i do some humanitarian work in guatemala...i have consistently met the nicest and humblest people there. i've been to scotland for tartan days, ireland for st patrick day, germany for octoberfest (and i don't even drink....but still had soooo much fun!) i've backpacked the smokeys and yellowstone and scuba dive with sharks. explored ice caves in alaska and sea kayaked with otters in maine. biked all over the usa; i biked pittsburgh to dc..in four days! i've delivered babies. i've escorted people through the end of their life in hospice. most proud: married my best friend...and raised a family of six wonderful and unique contributing children.
