About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet folks and learn new things. See if I can stay ahead of my kids in odd knowledge.

ABOUT ME

Love to entertain and interested in learning new things about people and places. Organized, yet spontaneous. Outgoing, but also good at being on own. Enjoy showing unique features of place where I live. I know an original cobblestone street in town.

PHILOSOPHY

I love to read and enjoy walking. Discovering new places and trying new things is fun.
I believe God created me to do what benefits others and puts a smile on His face. While life isn't always easy, it is important to look on the bright side and share what I know and have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love being a docent at the Ford Museum, and am able to give insights into our former President as well as the various temporary exhibits there. I can either show you around or point you to great places of interest. I enjoy visiting the Frederick Meijer Gardens and also love to walk the boardwalk in Grand Haven.

Interests

Always reading something. Have been on leadership teams for various church, women, ethnic and condo organizations. Like to get out with a camera and catch unique moments in nature. Have been known to get in the car and simply drive around to find new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

History, historical romance and mysteries are my favorites. I really enjoy jazz - especially the saxophone. - but can enjoy almost any type of music for a period of time. Truly enjoyed reading the Chronicles of Narnia and the Harry Potter books with my kids. The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are also loved.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skipping a Poli. Sci. class resulted in my working for a congressman who went on to become a Vice President and then President of this country. Pretty fantastic experiences for an immigrant. It certainly strengthened my interest in history and politics.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have done typesetting and layout when my husband and I had a small publishing company. I have edited and produced several books, a 32 page magazine and a number of newsletters. I have also had a number of devotional meditations published.
Aside from that, I have been a leader in a variety of Christian womens groups and ethnic societies as well as a condo association.

Countries I’ve Visited
