Overview
About Me
My name is Truyen, I'm an entrepreneur, adventurer, and lifelong learner. I enjoy a lot of hobbies and is always open to experiencing more activities. I have a growth mindset, is clean, responsible, and content.
Things to consider: Homeowner with a flexible work schedule; my parents live at home with me, they get upstairs and I'm downstairs. It is a great space that I've made home over the past few years. I've been in the police academy and the military so is naturally more security conscious. That said, I'm very chill and easy going if etiquette, cleanliness, and punctuality come naturally to you. I communicate very directly; a mix of ESTP & ESTJ if you're into M.B.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing for a more immersive traveling experience. I would love to learn more about other's perspectives, cultures, travel style, network and hear/share each other's stories. I've prioritized traveling more lately and would like to meet awesome fellow travelers.
Obviously, it is also a more economical way for accommodations while traveling so I'd like to be a part of the ecosystem by hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music isn't that diverse... I tend to read more for learning than for pleasure. Siddhartha by Herman Hesse & Cowboy Bebop (the series) are the two most influential pieces of media. There are a lot of great movies out there! Bond/Bourne action are entertaining, but Good Will Hunting and 7 Years in Tibet are the movies that resonates over time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had an amazing opportunity to help lead an infantry platoon for 3 weeks on a training mission at Schofield Barracks It was rewarding because with a rank of "Cadet" you're not respected at the get-go. It was physically demanding and dangerous... The joint, night live fire exercise with the Australian Army was challenging. But I was able to prove myself and earned the soldier's respect over a short time.
