my name is Tuqa, a jordanian student doing an exchange year in germany. i study renewable energy engineering and i have devoted this year to traveling. since october i have been to 5 different countries in europe and 20+ new cities. i'm a curious girl in the big vast world, i'm up to trying new things but still a picky eater. i spend my days wandering around taking pictures of my surroundings and documenting my days in my art journal. i love photo shoots and being in front of the camera as much as being behind it and taking pictures of my friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

i'm here because i figured this could be an easy way to make friends from all around the world, learn new cultures up close, interacting with locals, as well as save some cash when visiting cities with no hostels.

Music, Movies, and Books

my favorite bands are the 88, arctic monkeys, daughter, mayday parade and brand new. i'm into movies with an aesthetic cinematography like Me, Earl and the dying girl and the theory of everything.
my ultimate favorite book is The Perks of Being a Wallflower and the 5 people you meet in heaven, tuesdays with morrie and eleanor & park.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i was part of an initiative called basmetak where we helped refugees in Jerash-Jordan make a living instead of giving them money, give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach man how to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life"
i helped collect data about the camp and organized events to help raise money to help us create job opportunities for them such as buying them sheep so they can make milk, cheese, butter and collect wool to sell to the community there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

i can cook a few middle eastern dishes, speak fluent arabic as a mother language and english. and share my experiences.
