Grew up in Portland, Oregon and moved to Santa Barbara, California to go to school at UCSB. Majored in Microbiology and Biochemistry and have worked as a molecular engineer for the last year in Santa Barbara.

Outside of work I am an avid surfer, rockclimber and backpacker. I spend a majority of my free time outside, and love being in the mountains or in the ocean. I'm a big music fan and am always into checking out live music and concerts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and meeting people local to every place I visit. My girlfriend and I have recently quit our jobs to travel for the next few months and are looking to meet new people and explore cultures and locations that we've always talked about!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Mostly alternative rock. Modest Mouse, Jack White, The National, Arctic Monkeys, Beck, Alt J, The Kills, Father John Misty, Queens of the Stone Age, etc.

Movies: Everything. Favorite movies are usually a little on the dark side: There Will Be Blood and Requiem for a Dream are some of my favorites. Also a huge Patrick Swayze fan, so always down to watch the original Point Break.

Books: Everything. Spend a lot of time reading, and like to diversify as much as possible.
