ABOUT ME
We're a husband and wife duo who have helped some travelers along the way... and we also have been helped! We have a miniature human as well named Thomas.

PHILOSOPHY
We love Jesus and enjoy sharing his love with others (in a non-creepy way). If we can help out, we like to do so! We also respect everyone no matter background or religion.

Note: Leander is about 30-40 minutes away from DOWNTOWN downtown Austin. Would recommend having your own transportation or willing to walk a mile to the train station, but our schedules do not allow for a lot of help with transportation. Please mention your transportation plans in any requests :)

We're both pretty laid back. Though we like fun, friends, & food!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I suppose we did participate in CS before we knew what CS was! We were flying from Florida to California and our flight got delayed and then eventually cancelled. There was a fellow traveler who we noticed was in the exact same situation, but he was flying home to CA. Since we were still on our home turf, we invited him to couch surf until we could go to a different airport for a flight the next day. It was one of the coolest and most fun experiences we've ever had! We learned a lot from him and a lot about each other as well. We did finally make it to Cali... after one more cancelled flight and two more delays! Since then we've hosted delightful surfers from four continents. If you hail from Africa, Asia, or Antarctica and ask to surf, you'll pretty much get an automatic yes so we can round out the bunch... that, and we love learning about different cultures and meeting new people.

Interests

Reading, movies, television, the sun, reading in the sun, playing with the dog, giving back to the community. TW has been coin collecting and has an extensive knowledge of film and television. He also wants to visit all of the baseball stadiums in the US... working on New York!

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much enjoy any adolescent literature and light movies. I don't want to be depressed by something I read or watch :) I get enough of that by watching the news.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We both participated in Surfers for Autism in the summer of 2013. It's amazing to see the sense of happiness and freedom that comes when a child with autism gets up on a surfboard! We've seen the Northern Lights and that probably is the most beautiful thing we've gotten to experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

We're pretty good at trivia, especially movie trivia. We have quite the DVD collection and a personal library (from which we share books! It's a perk!). My husband has a ridiculous amount of knowledge in regards to religion and religious history (not just Christianity). I do freelance editing as well.
