Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To deepen my internal sense of being at home in my Self
ABOUT US
I moved to Corvallis with my partner David in March and then left work I was doing in Portland for the last 11 years with a community called L'Arche Portland.
In 2011 I began training in the work of Voice Dialogue. I completed a 2-year program, and then did 100 supervised sessions for my apprenticeship. I'm three years in to the practice and am am just now beginning to build a client base in Corvallis.
Another passion of mine is studying with a man named Stephen Jenkinson in his Orphan Wisdom school. His books Die Wise: A Manifesto for Sanity and Soul and Come of Age: The Case for Elderhood in a Time of Trouble can give of good sense to anyone who might curious about his work.
From David: I began writing about climate change issues about five years ago and that has segued into a deep interest in how humans might live sustainably on this planet. I grew up in Philadelphia and lived in Eugene for 10 years before moving to Corvallis.
PHILOSOPHY
Still working on that, but it boils down to love. David: Humans are part of the living world, and it would be good if we could act as if we are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed 10x via this website, most recently with Kayleigh on Salt Spring Island, who was super kind. David and I couch surfed together in Arcata, Hawaii, Bellingham, and Salt Spring, I was also in Paris with Martine, Cyrus, and Louis, all three of whom were generous hosts.
In Portland, I surfed once with Zen and Chi in Milwaukie (I highly recommend a stop by their place!) and regularly with a fabulous woman who hosted me every single week for my 2 days away from my community. She is a saint! Later, she welcomed me full time in exchange for cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping.

Music, Movies, and Books
Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials. Coleman Barks' renditions of Rumi. Daniel Ladinsky's take on Hafiz. I also love Jungian stuff, like Linda Schierse-Leonard's On the Way to the Wedding and anything by Marion Woodman and Robert A. Johnson. Favorite movies include anything by Ang Lee, The Lives of Others, After the Wedding. I also really like the Jason Bourne type movies (I grew up on them). My latest favorites are A Christmas Tale and the earlier movie by the same director: Rois et Reine (Kings and Queen) was outstanding. Mathieu Amalric is incredible, he was also great in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to France without speaking French or knowing a single person in the country because I felt like the universe was luring me there. When I arrived, it was as though someone was rolling out a red carpet in front of me and meeting each of my needs, sometimes before I'd even become aware of them. It felt like a manifestation of Shakti Gawain's claim that "the universe will reward you for taking risks on its behalf."
What I Can Share with Hosts
David: a tarot reading, both: lively conversation
