About Me

Hi, I'm Tyler! I currently live in Charleston, South Carolina! After growing up in Florida I had a 10 year career that brought me around the US, and have been fortunate and grateful to have traveled to 30+ countries and counting! I have a fantastic family (one brother) and friends, many of which I have met along life's crazy journey! I have been told that I am very outgoing, open minded, personable, free spirited, helpful, and giving, with a sarcastic sense of humor :)

*Although I have been a couch surfing member since 2015, I have not utilized couch surfing until now (Feb 2019) and am happy to verify myself via facetime, skype, linkedin, social media, or courier pigeon if needed :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What I have found is that the the best, most unique, and deep friendships come from those that you meet outside of your comfort zone and that you should never judge a book by it's cover. During my travels outside of where I live I have randomly or by fate come across some of the greatest individuals I've ever met that have had the most positive impact on my life. Many of which invited me into their home and treated me as family. What could be better than that? These experiences have been monumental in my growth as a human being and have allowed me to see the world more clearly with less filters. The reason I am on couch surfing is to continue the greatest adventure: Living life outside the comfort zone and to meet amazing like minded people!

Favorite Book: Shoe Dog by Phil Knight
Music: All types!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After buying a leather bag from a shop in Morocco, I became friends with the salesman, was invited to continue my stay in Morocco with him and stay with his family, who spoke no English. I spent three days at his home, ate goat and couscous with my hands off a large platter with his family every evening, and rode on the back of his motorcycle around Marrakech, ending with his taking me to the airport like that, with 3 bags hanging off my back and arms - falling off once and nearly missing my flight - stories like this are what I live for!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories of my travels, connect with hosts as if we have known each others for years (always the best!), connect hosts with others that I have met along my travels, give guidance and unbiased opinions during great conversations over dinner or during an adventure, participate in new adventures, and help out around the home as much as is needed. I am the type of person that I would want to host in my own home!
