About Me

Hey, how are ya?

My name is Tyler and i'm a New Zealander. I reside here in the lovely city of Melbourne , Australia.

I've been living here for the best part of 10 years now, and it definitely feels like home! I get back to New Zealand around once a year and I try to get to another country at least once a year.

When I am not at work, I am hanging out with friends, going out to eat/drink, taking pictures, editing pictures or cooking, listening to tunes and watching a film or two. I occasionally dj at local bars and sometimes festivals in the summer time.

I have travelled to 30+ countries and still continue to look at new places to visit for my vacation time - with a definite preference for backpack style travelling.

I live in my own home in Hadfield, which is just north of Melbourne city. It's easily accessible to public transport, very comfortable and there is a spare room for privacy. The couch is also very comfortable too.

The city isn't too far away, maybe 15km and there are regular trains operating from Glenroy and Coburg which is easy to get to by bus. I can drop you at the train station and pick up if needed and can help with best routes etc for wherever you would like to go.

There is a bus stop, and strip of shops with all the things at the end of my street, cafe's, laundromat and supermarket!

Note:

* I do accept guests, but for no longer than 3 days.

Thanks!
Tyler.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was lucky enough to be hosted a few times on couch surfing while travelling the world, each time a different and amazing experience. I saw how the people live, and got a snapshot into every day life. Hosts showed me around, took me out to eat, and introduced me to their friends.

I will never forget the kindness of these people and it really changed my idea of couch surfing. I want to be the person that helps out some travellers new to Melbourne while I am here!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am in love with reggae music, and have an extensive collection. I love the way it creates a vibe like no other music does.

Electronic music is also a highlight, among a bunch of other genre depending on mood. I will give almost anything a try really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with the sea lions in the Galapagos islands.

Stargazing at Salar de Uyuni in the best hot pool on earth.

Played support for Andy C.

I can show you some of the best places to eat, get coffee, see wild Kangaroo, have a party, hike, the beach. I am a wizard at New Zealand itineraries also if you are heading that way.
