I've lived in this small town my entire life. I grew up working on my granddad's farm just down the road from my home. I went to the local high school where I learned to speak German, taking part in the German American Partnership Program (GAPP) in 2012 and later attended the Georgia Governor's Honors Program (GHP) in 2013 as a German Major. GAPP allowed me to visit places like Stuttgart, Heidelberg, and Freiburg in Germany as well as Colmar and Bern in France and Switzerland respectively. Both of my parents worked in law enforcement and I followed suit after highschool, becoming a correctional officer at the age of 18 and working as a jailor and sheriff's deputy since. I am currently married, but my wife and I are starting divorce proceedings soon. The ongoing end of my marriage saw me shy away from actually enjoying life as I sank into depression to cope with the stress. I recently decided that that sort of behavior would only do more harm than good and that I needed some new things in my life. Travel and meeting new people was decidedly part of that, hence the profile you're looking at.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I want more out of life. I want to go new places, meet new people, see, do, taste, feel, experience new things. I want to have memories to look back on. There's so much more to get out of traveling than just going to a place, being alone, and seeing the normal tourist traps. I'm hoping the couchsurfing community can help me unlock that "more" and I hope I can do the same for anyone that needs a place to stay at my house.
