Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My roommates used to host couchsurfers very frequently. I really enjoy showing them around Austin and learning about their lives. I'm was very excited to join for myself and use this site a little bit in Europe in 2013. We had an excellent host in Iceland and another one in Denmark.

I would love to get to hosting when I get my own place.

Interests

I love to be doing something adventurous outdoors including hiking, cycling, camping, snowboarding, fishing, kayaking, rock climbing, wake boarding, and paddle boarding.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie of all time is probably "O Brother Where Art Thou." I like listening to classic rock and love seeing any kind of live music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2011 I rode my bicycle 4,800 miles from Austin, TX to Anchorage, AK to raise money for cancer research with an organization called Texas 4000. We went through Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon Territory, and Alaska. The journey took us 70 days and we raised 300k for cancer research.

This trip sparked my interest for international travel. I have since had the opportunity to travel to Europe and Africa.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a very easy-going guy. I can bring my own sleeping arrangements if needed.
