About Me
"We are enriched not by what we possess, but by what we can do without."
-Immanuel Kant
Aloha! The above quote pretty much summarizes my life philosophy these days.
The travel bug has bitten me hard, even if I am a late bloomer in that regard (can’t believe I’m already past 30). Currently midway into a multi-year, globe-spanning trek through Latin America, Europe, and Southeast Asia - "digital nomad" style.
Hmm, what else about me? I am very active...I love exercising/dancing/running and just getting my body moving in general. I also have an insatiable appetite for knowledge; you'll often find me nose-deep in a good book or stimulating podcast. I am especially obsessed with understanding human social dynamics - why we act the way we act and what makes people and cultures tick. And I'm not just saying that to justify my otherwise useless bachelor's degree in Anthropology. Humans are just so fascinating.
Regarding requests to stay with me: If you put “GO PACK GO” in your request to me I’ll know right away that you’ve read this, and it will massively increase your chances of getting a yes :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ve used both sides of the couchsurfing service so far, and find that it truly highlights the best humanity has to offer (generosity, sharing, friendship). I also love to get the local perspective on places I travel rather than the canned tourist version of things.
Interests
Meeting interesting people, swimming, dancing, tennis, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, soccer, board games, card games, piano, music (esp. live music), reading, film, drawing, anthropology, energy, nature/environment, economics, psychology, philosophy, memory, dreaming, relaxing in my hammock…
Honestly it would probably be faster and easier to list what I’m NOT interested in, but I already typed up the above and I don’t want to be negative so there you go.
