About Me

CURRENT MISSION

With the world as a whole, traveling it can seem like a daunting task. An impossible mission into the unknown where intimidation and fear survive. I cannot live this way. Embrace change, laugh at fear and try everything once.

ABOUT ME

As a lonely soul trying to find a place of adventure and friendship, I seek out the unusual to me, usually with my dog at my heel. I love cooking and tasting new things, I wish I had Anthony Bourdain's job. But alas, my New Orleans themed kitchen is where I call home.
I travel mainly to mountains and deep snow to put beneath my snowboard. Climbing and exploring the back country, I seek out pristine powder trying to find a satisfied mind.

PHILOSOPHY

Reading is better than TV. Snow is better than sand. Old is better than new and slow is better than fast.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to participate by hosting fellow travelers who come to Canada's capital city of Ottawa. Make new friends and share experiences with people from where i don't know much about. As well, I would love to travel more, but stay away from the beaten path and fancy hotels that lack character. Couches are a perfect way to meet people and enjoy places from the ground, to really see it for what it is.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is a new thing for me, using a site for something I've been doing for some time. While living in BC, many people came through my door. Friends of friends of friends needing a place to crash. Me I always love cooking for people that invite me into their homes.
One guy from France ended up renting one of the empty rooms in my house. As a fellow chef, he and I made some incredible meals for our friends.

Interests

I really enjoy horror movies. Classics, new ones, B level from the 80s and 90s. I like to read, watch people play piano, learning new skills and breathing fresh air.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching my dog swim in white water and love it. Fly fishing on the Elk river at dawn. Climbing Polar Peak during an inversion. The first time I climbed over a cornice. Seeing my brother get married in Korea. Getting lost in the Dominican Republic. Driving over mountains.
