Build telescope, learn lindy, and climb!
I build telescopes in a windowless lab, I need photons! But ya, astrophysics by day, hanging out and finding adventures by night. Perhaps a little backwards but it works out. I'm pretty relaxed and looking to meet new people. I also appreciate a good mosh pit, the energy is just something else, same with swing dancing for that matter. Appearance wise, I'm a goofy 6'2" red head, hard to miss in a crowd.
We'll go with being a generally good and friendly guy and hope that rubs off on others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted a fair amount last year, lately I've been going to some gatherings and such and hosting the occasional one myself. I've also being converting my coworkers and friends, though only the good ones so no worries = P
I surfed when I first arrived in Boulder before I had my own place. Made some of my first friends here that way. Found a random guy in Cambridge who was a friend of a friend of mines and landed with him for a night. It was a pretty sweet deal and worked out super well. And now I've surfed on a few other couches here and there and met so many many awesome people.
The great outdoors, friendly people, relaxing, good times, etc. Also love soccer and skiing, mmmmmmmmmm......
Oh, and cooking, I love to cook and bake. Cookies frequently travel with me. Also into origami occasionally, can teach you how to make a Kawasaki rose. I also like to make things out of duct tape. Music is another priority of mine, just can't seem to get enough of it. Rock climbing is quickly ascending *chortle* my list of interests.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Monty Python, Harold and Maude, anything Meg Ryan, Fight Club, and quite a few more.
Music: Anything but hardcore rap and country.
Books: NO TIME TO READ ANYTHING BUT PAPERS! grad student life, also LEARNING KOREAN! So all I've got in the works right now is Tintin and perhaps Catch 22 for the 3rd (4th?) time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked with a very nationalistic Montenegran at 3 in the morning and we drove though some of their most impressive canyons and valleys under a full moon, was beautiful. He was also amusing as the English he knew was from movies and consisted mostly of cursing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an Astrophysicist so I can tell you about anything that's up. Also a good skier and could give some tips there. And cooking, love to cook, I've been experimenting with curries lately so if you know any good ideas there I'd love to share.
