About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do awesome things. Awesomely.

ABOUT ME

I do some pretty awesome things, guys. I just quit my job to freelance, and I'm crossing my fingers that this decision will turn out well for me, but if it doesn't, my fallback plan is to trade years worth of accumulated tax statements for food.

PHILOSOPHY

I think, if just one person thinks their life has been better because of me, then I've done good.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed at a stranger's house when I was in Holland! I'd met her in Barcelona and she invited me to visit her when my travels took me her way, and when I showed up, we went to a potluck at her friend's place and everyone laughed at my jokes and then we went to a movie and it was really really nice to have a bit of home in the middle of a very long stint on the road.

Interests

Ice cream sandwiches, millinery, intersectionality, free things, performative femininity, that adorable thing your cat did, building things, breaking things, impromptu barbecues.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot but rarely remember what I've read. I just finished Lolita, and I was charmed that the library copy of the book, the protagonist of which is named Humbert Humbert, came from the Humber Bay branch of the Toronto Public Library. I also read A Confederacy of Dunces; one of the Shopaholic books, the one where she has a baby; I Have a Bed Made of Buttermilk Pancakes, a domestic comedy set in Sydney; a magazine article about dressing one's best; and a telephone bill (45 seconds London, UK; 1:13 London, UK; 32 seconds London, UK. I kept getting cut off until finally I emailed the person I was calling.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've swum in all five of the Great Lakes! That's pretty super.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can probably tell you what you should do with your hair.
