My name is Ubaid Shareef currently I am pursuing Bachelors in Physics in Kolkata. I am a simple guy who is enthusiastic about living life to its fullest. I want to travel, write and capture. I am passionate about everything life has to offer. If we don't explore then we will never really find what we want, what we are looking for. I think we all must take these journeys to unknown destinations for they help us unveil ourselves, for they somehow make us who we wanted to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because by using couchsurfing I will a get chance to make quality connections with people in every city I visit. That means I would have a friend in every city I travel to, which is awesome. Also my local hosts can educate me about the place I am visiting and their knowledge of the place would certainly be very priceless for me. If I stay with a local host that would definitely give me a profound experience of the culture of that particular place. Last but not least meeting new people is a beautiful experience because they have so much to give. Furthermore, there are so many stereotypes and prejudices about different places and local hosts can show you otherwise.
Life feels meaningful when you constantly experience it from others' perspective as well. The thing is modern world in many ways has made us sick we are extremely skeptical almost about everything, media feeds us with all the negativity there is and so on. What we lack is mutual trust. We need to relearn to talk, trust and be comfortable with a fellow human being. CS to me is a platform to revive the trust, love and mutual respect that humans shared. CS to me is a platform to infuse life in humanity, something that let's see you humanity at it's best. Much Love❤️

Interests

I am quite interested in photography and I always love to capture people. I like to think of myself as a biking enthusiast.
I love to travel. The kick of being in a new, strange and beautiful city on your own is unmatched.
I love to explore on my own. Solo.
Since I am from Kashmir from my early childhood I have been exposed to trekking and hiking and I have developed quite a taste for this particular activity (stamina too).

Some of my favorite books include: The veiled suit, The alchemist, Kite runner, God of small things, The stranger... I cannot name all the books, a lot of books are close to my heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have not done many amazing things yet but I have experienced the trills of being buried in the snow, Taking bath in a gushing river when the temperature is below zero, travelling to a far city alone without any knowledge of that city and so on... And there are so many amazing things yet to happen.
You never know maybe the next amazing things that's going to happen to me are you!

I can be quite helpful in the field of fitness and nutrition because I have been doing it for a long time.
I can talk and discuss about books and literature for hour. I can have long discussions about poetry and I write.
I can also teach you a few tricks about Photography and can do photoshoots for my hosts.
