About Me
🦄
Good day!
it s quite unlikely I ‘d accept any request to either host or hang out during fall and winter (approx. Sept-April). Thanks for your understanding.
Please read my full profile including the “My Home” section before considering a request. And please prove you did.
I’m Udo, living in Amsterdam, Oud-West.
As a daily routine I enjoy working in art education. Of course all the glamorous pictures on here are all about free time, travel, swimming 🏊🏼 , chilling, yoga 🧘🏽♂️ , sailing ⛵ clubbing, rarely rave, concerts, theatre and dance. I like summertime and (therefore) to underdress. It takes me some effort to adjust to autumn and survive Dutch winters. Mostly vegetarian 🍆🍉, sometimes pescatarian 🐟
I do my best to maintain a daily yoga practice. You’re not necessarily expected to join unless you want to, of course.
To me Couchsurfing primarily is a social platform, and I host with that in mind.
I value some connections, appreciate requests that are personal, honest and well-motivated. Please be open and specific: where are you currently travelling from, how many nights and persons, your next stop, etc,.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and intentions—your expectations of Amsterdam. What made you reach out to me in particular?
I do my best to maintain a 100% response rate within max. 2 days for those who take the time to write a thoughtful request.
About the city Amsterdam you can read a bit on the 'my home' section.
NOTE:
Some of my intollerances and aversions: (cheap) perfumes and deodorants, scented laundry detergents, calls or audio on smart phone speakers, loud phone calls, indifference, neo-liberals and worse. I usually do not wave national flags (especially those of imperialist colonisers.
(free 🍉).
Amsterdam housing marked is way overcooked. This is a complex matter for which regrettably I am not willing nor able to advise, host or support. I also can or will not advise on (cheap) hostels nor on parking your car.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Believing in, and relying on the kindness of stranger.
Social network connections.
An extra reason to clean my home more often.
(Actually I am on CS since October 2016 and re-subscribed after a brake during the pandemic. I thereby lost the history of hosting about 80 visitors with unanimously positive references :-)

Teach, Learn, Share
-My home, live life, cook, drink (not persé alcoholic, sober curious), eat, (vegetarian, occasionally pescatarian), sleep.
- Navigating the hostile Amsterdam (bike) traffic,
-Sailing. However I do not have a boat, some of my friends have, and I sometimes rent a small one for a day.
-Surviving this beautiful and cruel world. :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Up till now I only host. If I ever will surf and be hosted, I can share my ability to repair things (except for broken hearts and minds). My somewhat weird and original character loyal and open to sincerity.
It comes without saying (well, I anyway say it here) I am tidy and doing my chores, both at home as well as at other ones homes. Usually leaving places at least as I found them or better, as I expect the same from my guests.
