About Me

CURRENT MISSION

organizing my travels to Israel and Japan ... and trying to figure out more awesome destinations to visit

ABOUT ME

I work as a contemporary dancer mainly in Munich and southern Germany.

Munich has been my home for 8 years. I love the City, its flair and the way of living here, but I also always find myself dreaming about moving somewhere else. I started travelling to further destinations just few years ago, but now I can't stop. Itchy feet :)

I grew up in a little town in northern Bavaria close to the boarder to the Czech Republic. A very calm area. But lovely; I recommend everyone to go there and have a relaxing time.
My parents used to travel a lot when they were younger and they went on doing so until my sister and me started school. So I saw many parts of the world at a very young age. Maybe that's where my "Fernweh" comes from - I love this German word. It means something like yen to see different countries, but somehow in a poetic way.

Originally my family is from Estonia but unfortunately none of my relatives still live there and I don't speak Estonian. Anyway, somehow I still feel connected with the Baltic states and we still do have some of the Estonian customs in my family, food for Easter and Christmas etc. ...

Besides working as a dancer (and dance teacher) I go to university. I study English and physical education for being a teacher.

What else?
I'm a vegetarian, ... although I don't really like calling myself so. But I stopped eating meat, so I guess that makes me a vegetarian. I just don't know whether I will stay so for a long time of change my mind. At least for now I feel good the way it is. Please don't think i am picky of difficult when it comes to food. I love food! :)

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophy? Personal goal:
Be a good person.
Try to live in a way that satisfies you as much as possible.
Don't lie to anyone, especially not to yourself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed too many couches so far and unfortunately I cannot host anyone at my current place. I share a flat with 2 guys and am about to convince them how great couchsurfing is.
I met a lot of people through CS though. Many of them are really good friends of mine by now.
I also used the CS forums a lot to find travelling partners, meet-ups, help in need...

Interests

I love music, good food, crocheting beanies and dancing of course.
Taking photos and videos is one of my passions too. I love fiddling about with iMovie or Photoshop, although I often don't really know what I am doing

Music, Movies, and Books

That's a tricky category.
One of my favourite movies is "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" and I love "The Graduate", many German movies or Dogma films.
This is really so hard to answer ... I used to work in a cinema for several years just to watch as many movies as possible so I can't chose any real favourites.

Books I recently read:
Zadie Smith - White Teeths
Margaret Atwood - Alias Grace
Oscar Wild - The picture of Dorian Gray
