I’m Dr. Vankadoth Umakanth Naik, a PhD in Bioinformatics, currently working as an Assistant Professor in Computational Biology at Jain (Deemed-to-be) University, School of Sciences, Bengaluru.

Before joining academia, I worked as a Project Scientist-I at IIT Roorkee, where I explored molecular modeling and protein interactions — but beyond the lab, I’m always exploring the human side of life!

When I’m not decoding proteins or teaching molecular pathways, you’ll probably find me cracking up at the silliest jokes, striking up conversations with complete strangers, or dancing in the streets just because the music feels right. I believe laughter, curiosity, and connection make life more meaningful.

I love meeting people from all walks of life — sharing stories, learning about cultures, hiking, or just chilling over a good drink. Whether it’s exploring hidden local spots or having deep late-night talks, I’m all in for authentic experiences.

Apart from English and a bit of Hindi, I’m also fluent in a few other “languages”:

They may not be official languages, but they sure help break the ice when words fall short 😉

I’m drawn to randomness, uncertainty, and the thrill of doing things that are a little offbeat. If it’s forbidden… it probably deserves to be tried once!

Couchsurfing, for me, is about real connection — sharing moments, stories, and laughter that last beyond a journey. Looking forward to meeting like-minded travelers, hosts, and free spirits along the way.

I'm a dreamer and love to share those dreams with other travellers
I like to tour for the places which are not crowded by the tourists or local merchants. Because tourism is something to make you relax and enjoy the surroundings. You can't enjoy surfing in a beach, If thousands of people are roaming around.
Instead I would like to explore places which I have never visited before.
Watching cartoons or Listening to music is favourite for me apart from travelling.
Playing chess is something I would love, if someone who could try to beat me in the game. But when playing with people who would be learning, I will get myself lose the game. Because it makes them to play again and again. I would be so happy to see someone who is happier by beating me in the game

I can offer the food of south Indian special some surrounding archeological places ,along with that hikings,visiting waterfalls ,staying night camping fire and bed for them to sleep in my house or i can accomodate in hostel r outside hotes based on your suggestions. If possible, I will show you the wonderful places of Tirupati. Even tourist information is a waste because you will be surrounded by hundreds of people. I have been living here since my birth, so I do know different places which are not known to tourists or guides
