I had not a lot of couchsurfing experiences, but I was in Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Sweden for my holiday.
One day I was guess of a cousin of my girlfriend in Amburg and I wacht that someone live togheter other person for a long time in their life.I would try it.
