To learn how to be present as much as possible, to not take things too seriously, and to be kind and compassionate.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Tennessee with the foothills of the Appalachian mountain range beneath my bare feet. A product of the "back to land" post 70's hippie movement, I spend a lot of time as a child dancing to Bob Marley in our kitchen, weeding countless rows of carrots in the garden, and helping my mom can tomatoes for days. Eventually we moved into the mountains to Asheville, NC where I went to school to study metal smithing and started a jewelry business.

Years later, I moved to the northwest and am now in Portland, Or. I share a little apartment with my partner, Vance, on the north side of town. We are both artists. He is a portrait photographer and I have a metal smithing studio close to home. I'm also a full time art student at Portland State University. I spend most of my time making things, rock climbing, learning circus, coking good food and hanging with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to host couchsurfers that are interested in visiting Portland and that are particularly stoked on getting outside and exploring nature!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have lived in communal houses in the past that have hosted many couch surfers, all of which were pretty awesome. I also couch surfed with a couple folks in London and Amsterdam years ago and it was a great experience.

Interests

making things with metal, cooking things, listening to people i love talk about things they love, hearing my friend play piano on porches, drinking tea with lavender in it, going on hikes, collecting small things in the woods, jumping out of planes,flea markets, road side attractions, night time bike adventures, yoga, dancing, rock climbing, any thing that makes me smile and laugh.
