ABOUT ME

Well, I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, La. I attended high school, and my first year of college there. After my first year at LSU, I had dropped too many classes and lost my scholarship, so I joined the US Navy to pay for school. Shortly before leaving for basic training Hurricane Katrina hit and destroyed most of New Orleans, and really messed things up in the surrounding areas... Well, long story short, I recieved a medical discharge from the Navy for an eye injury I received when I was 18. Upon returning home I found it increasingly hard to find a job in post-Katrina Baton Rouge(not only had the city population nearly doubled, most 24hr places began closing at 9 for fear of gangs from New Orleans).

Well that's pretty much what motivated my move to California. Since moving out here I have gotten back in school and met my beautiful fiancé.

I've always been interested in the way things work, as a child my parents used to get me old appliances from garage sales for me to take a part. In my spare time I enjoy tinkering with small projects in my garage. I'm working towards a degree in Material Science Engineering, but would really like to teach. My fiancé is a graduate student at UCR working on her PhD in Comparative Literature.

We enjoy cooking together and we think we're pretty good at it. :]
