ABOUT ME

Have been stuck put for too long! reigniting my love of travel!
Being brought up learning a lot of history I love journeying to the places I have learnt about and seeing them with my own eyes and meeting the people that live there!
I spent nearly 12 months traveling around the world a number of years ago and have been aching to do more since.
A holiday in Thailand in 2011 got me back on the wagon and in 2012 I took three friends on a whirlwind tour of Peru, Guatemala, Igassu Falls, Rio and Buenos Aires!
Spent two months in the US Dec 2013 and Jan 2014 and for the first time experienced what it was like to be really cold! I hope to never be that cold again! Fell in love with the libraries and librarians in the US as well as Zion National Park in the snow is more stunning than I could describe!

I love South America and especially enjoy Peru (Cusco region & up in the mountains) and Buenos Aires! Am hoping to find a pot of gold and get myself back there soon!

Working hard towards paying off my last trip to start saving for the next!

PHILOSOPHY

I spent the last few years under self imposed stress and rules. I have broken free of that and am living my life how I want - busy and interesting!

I haven't participated for a couple of years, due to moving and other restrictions, however will be more active come Spring!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed many years ago with two lovely guys in New York, Seth & Will.

I try to host when I can, at the moment I have no availability - should do come spring though.

Everything is a means to an end.

I am an animateur (cross-disciplinary performance creator) by trade but have a 'real' job to pay the bills and allow me to travel!

I value knowledge very highly and love to teach and help others research and brainstorm!

I read a lot and love movies and music - super eclectic tastes.
I have dancers disease - I can break into a dance anytime anyplace - you've been warned!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Looking up in the Temple at Luxor and seeing blue paint that had been there for over three thousand years.

Taking off on a plane always leaves me awestruck. Just knowing I got my shit together enough to have money, a ticket, etc and be on a plane somewhere is awesome!

I have been lucky enough to travel a fair bit already and every now and then I just shake my head when I think of the things I have done, places I have been and things I have seen!

Teach, Learn, Share

Some of the most interesting Australians you will meet are those who love to travel, and not just go to a resort and hang out, those that hire the scooters and find the tiny little secluded beaches and get to know the locals!
I have just finished studying to be a Librarian, so I can teach you how to catalogue in MARC format if you want!
I'm also a bit of a nerd so am handy with a computer.
I am a jack of all trades! I have a passion for the arts, history and languages (am currently learning Spanish and trying to remember my German!)
I have taught and choreographed contemporary dance before and love improvisation. I have made films and created live works (you can find some of my stuff on youtube - search upsilonarts)
