About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission in life is to feel good about myself and enjoy life to the fullest. Simple. As. That. This might sound a tad whimsical, but after year of trial and error, I have come to the conclusion that nothing else matters more than that.

ABOUT ME

Once upon a time in a land far, far north there lived a curious, wacky young woman with orange hair and blue eyes. She wandered through the world meeting all kinds of strange and wonderful people, each and every one of them showed her something new; a new life lesson, a new joke, a new perspective, a new insight, a random laugh, a foreign language, a different way of being, new knowledge or maybe a funky way to dress. One day she was pondering upon the Great World Wide Web, and found a peculiar little website that made it possible to make friends all over the world, visit new places, and share her lovely city with new people! And so it was that she joined the community of couchsurfing. Happily ever after? Fuck yeah.

I love people! I´m fascinated with just about anything (maybe with the exception of algae. no, that´s actually pretty cool too), and quite easily amused. I live in central Oslo with my favorite person in the world, who also happens to be my best friend. I´m a homemaker, a 60-year old lady reincarnated in the body of a 22-year old. I love to cook and knit, I swing dance, drink insane amounts of tea (worked in a tea-shop too) and I aspire to create a warm home where anyone can feel welcome, appreciated and completely relaxed. I´m an open person, and people have told me that they perceive me as a nonjudgmental. I laugh a lot (and loud), and I can be everything from quiet and contemplating to childish and somewhat hyper, to very focused and serious or just whimsical and random.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far! A complete CS-newbie :)

Interests

Almost everything, except for watching sports on TV (sorry fellas). If I´m not interested in a subject already, I bet you can make me interested just by showing me your genuine enthusiasm for it!

I am fascinated with everything that has a touch of art in it: the radiant glance in a pair of eyes, a singing laughter, the morning light hitting the curtains just right, the smell of autumn or library books, the feeling of grass between my toes, biking with the wind in my face, a beautiful fabric, eargasm-causing music, a freshly brewed cuppa tea drank from a leaf thin porcelain cup, splattering paint over a huge canvas, to dance like nobody´s watching - shaking every bit of of yuk out of your body.

I´m a huge foodie and I LOVE tasting things I´ve never tried before. If you bring me something from your home country I would be super happy. I love cooking, and find that sitting down together to share a meal or a cup of tea is one the most basic ways of connecting with people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being asked to pick just one is like choosing a favorite child.

Seeing two male giraffes fighting neck to neck in Nakuru Nation Park, Kenya. Their movements were so slow and incredibly gracious, I felt hypnotized by what looked like a choreographed pair dance!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about tea, to cook, to knit, basic piano-playing, norwegian, how to turn a somersault, how to solve a rubics cube.. And so much more!
