About Me

I saw this quote recently and thought that it was pretty relevant to my life philosophy so here you go:

"Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect."

Which just means that I'm a fairly proactive person. I also enjoy meeting new people and listening to their stories.

I am a complete Couchsurfing novice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmmm...I wouldn't say that it was amazing, just interesting: getting the opportunity to work in Japan was a transformative experience. I believe it's essential to a person's personal growth to live outside of one's hometown, at least for a little while.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a mechanical engineer and have worked in the commercial nuclear power generation industry for approximately 9 years. It is a fairly niche industry with a lot of bright, motivated, hard working people who care about the future of the environment. and I am hopeful (perhaps biasedly so) that the nuclear renaissance will make a come back in spite of Fukushima.

I strongly believe in expanding renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, etc.). Coupled with the baseload capacity of operating nuclear plants as well as new nuclear plant construction these diverse energy sources can be combined to meet minimum energy demands and ultimately decrease carbon emissions.

This path forward is critical in order to provide future generations with a sustainable energy infrastructure while also preserving and protecting our environment.
