Overview
About Me
Well, I'm a student, on an exchange program at Reims, Sciences Po University. This is my first time in Europe, and I am overwhelmed at the beauty that it has to offer. I would love to tour very nook and corner of Europe if I could, but sadly, my time is short here. I'm an easy to talk to kind of person, as long as you don't expect me to be a GK geek! Haha! Just kidding.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Being a student obviously means I will have budget constraints. To be honest, that was initially my only reason of getting on couch surfing. I used to wonder what would motivate people to open their doors to strangers like us. Wasn't it risky? Wasn't it dangerous? And then I started reading some of the reviews and references on couch surfing and was amazed at how rich the experiences of those who host, and those who stay can be. I think it is one of the best way to get to know about a new place - to be able to know it through the eyes of a weathered local, who can tell you of all the charms and little quirks of the locality like it's the back of her hand.
Interests
I love travelling and photography, especially of scenic places. I love finding out how people from two faces of the earth can have surprisingly similar tastes, or two cities from opposite parts of the world have identical dishes! I'm a foodie, as in, I love trying out new food (though not really big on the appetite bit!), and trying out every kind of cuisine there is, is one of my goals of being in Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite kind of music is Linkin Park right now. Yes, hate it if you want, but listen to Blackout before you do! I feel so kickass when I listen to linkin park!
On books, I'm an old-world soul. My favourite is gone with the wind by Margaret Mitchell. Among other all time favourites are Jane Eyre, Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, Malgudi Days, Enid Blyton, Ruskin Bond, and oh! The harry potter series of course.
Once upon a time I was a rom com junkie. And I refuse to be ashamed of it!
On a more serious note, I enjoy most genres of movies except movies filled with unnecessary violence. I watch movies in more than 4 languages, and its a lot of fun.
Among my favourites are Dadar kirti (Bengali), 3 idiots (Hindi), Kadhalil Sodhapavadhu Yepudi (Tamil), Inglurious Basterds, Perks of being a Wallflower (new favourite)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well. Waiting for amazing things to start happening. But definitely will recommend this.
If you have a special somebody in your life, or even if you don't, one sight you should make it a point to see is watch a full moon arise out of the ocean on a dark night. There is nothing more ethereal and enchanting than this.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach a few yummy Indian recipes, Indian languages Hindi, Tamil and Bengali and also how to take a flattering profile picture, haha! Would love to learn about new cuisines and new recipes from others.
