About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find a way into the mind (of a rat)

ABOUT ME

My friends think I am crazy- the greatest compliment someone can give! I am lost in my mind but know I can find it somewhere out there in the world...
I am a scientist, who loves to understand the world in every aspect, and enjoy the company those open minds who are looking for, and sharing, the questions and answers as well.

PHILOSOPHY

if it works, take it apart and find out why. (be it a mind or a machine)
The devils advocate, lawyer, science adviser.
So many people to meet, so many places to see so little time.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

New on program. Previous and current program I am on is called HH (aka hitchhiking) picking up strangers, picked up by strangers, discussing world issues, personal madness, for hours. Departing and saying, "Oh sorry my name is ____, glad to meet you!"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am working on that... generally I can sleep on a beach, and my hammock has meet many trees on the side of the road...

Interests

anything... everything :-/ from architecture to zoology. How we learn, how we teach, what makes us think...A great friend once wrote... "an unabashed bibliophile and philomath - with polymathic ambitions." Saleem Barmaniahence we were great friends...

visited 40 states (17.7%)... I'm also very interested in your cooking!

Music, Movies & Books

There is something about French cinema... and generally anything off the beaten track.
...music... there was this rhythm I heard once a waning moon night that captured the scenery beyond sight - it could be heard only once, and if you heard it I like it.
... books... now that I discovered the internet who needs books?

One Amazing Thing I've Done

witnessed a birth, spent 5 days hiking up a mountain with out seeing another human (Only realised this when I tried to speak and could not as I had not used my voice the whole time... took about half an hour before I could talk properly again). The mental challenge of living with 8 people on an isolated island for 1 year. Estalish alpha male dominance over a baboon.

Teach, Learn, Share

you want to know about the stars, the universe and the science that we try to explain it with, some of the Mathematics behind what we think we know... If you want to know about the mind and how we understand (or at least rats)... A great hitchhiker of the universe once said:
"I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day."
