About Me
Currently on a 6 month trip around the world! My husband (Joseph) and I left Toronto at the end of February and flew to Namibia. Since then we traveled to South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, UAE, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, and we’re currently in Malaysia. We will travel to a bunch of south East Asian countries before ending our trip in Japan. I really enjoy traveling!
We adventurous, and outgoing. I love meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, trying new cuisines and learning about history. I really do love food so South East Asia has been incredible for that! We post daily updates about our travel journey on Instagram @ushaandjoseph. We aren’t famous or anything but it’s for friends and family who want to see what we’re up to. It’ll also serve as a travel diary after our trip. I’m happy to share some of our interesting travel stories as well.
I’m a PhD student in political science and do enjoying discussing politics but also learning different people’s perspective on things. At heart, I’m a researcher.
Although I was born in Canada, I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, a small island in the Caribbean. I love the beach, carnival, mountains, hiking, and making Caribbean food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I could saying traveling a bunch but while that’s a great experience, I’d say finding love tops that. Of course, that’s just my opinion!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook Caribbean dishes but I’d also love to learn how to cook your local food. I can share great conversations. We’re all just on a rock that’s thrashing through space, why not make the best of it?
What I Can Share with Hosts
My positivity and I love to share my culture, especially through cooking Caribbean food and explaining its history. I can give you advice about things to do in Trinidad and Tobago (restaurants, events, best spots to hangout) and tell you lots of things about my beautiful country. I’d say I’m generally a warm, kind, and caring person and take that with me wherever I go.
