About Me

Hi, I’m Utpal Kumar from Bihar, currently working in Bangalore as a software developer.
I’ve started an exciting 2000 km hitchhiking journey across South India, exploring places on a budget and connecting with locals along the way.

🗺️ Route Map:
Bangalore → Coimbatore → Kochi → Varkala → Kanyakumari → Rameswaram → Bangalore

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing to experience places through locals, their culture, and stories. I love meeting new people, sharing moments, and discovering hidden gems beyond tourist paths. For me, travel is about genuine connections and meaningful experiences.

Interests

I’m interested in meeting and talking with new people, traveling the world, and understanding how people live in different countries. But first, my dream is to explore every state of Incredible India before going global.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to lose myself in music mostly Kishore Kumar classics and 90s hits. They make every road feel like home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve jumped off world’s highest freestyle bungee ( 111 meter ) in Rishikesh, also rafted through the mighty Ganga of Grade lV rapid.

Trekked some of the toughest monoliths near Bangalore like Savandurga (Asia’s largest) and Madhugiri (Asia’s second largest).

I did trek to Harihar fort in maharastra (india’s most dangerous fort 80 degree inclined)

I completed a thrilling journey across India, riding my Yamaha FZ on a 6,500+ km bike trip in 50 days, Crossed 10 state border, where I explored diverse cultures, local foods, and stories from every corner of the country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share lots of travel stories from my journeys across India, and if my host enjoys food, I’d love to cook something for them, maybe even my favorite, Bihari-style chicken.
