ABOUT ME

This account is shared by me (Benoit) and my wife (Michele). I guess we feel a bit pessimistic about the world situation in general (political, environmental ... etc). This is the main reason for the cycling trip we have embarked on. We want to see the world as it is and not via hearsay or sensational news shows. People in this world are extremely generous. We are very often granted help when we most need it.

PHILOSOPHY

Even though it is easier said than done, you can always turn a bad situation into a positive one. There are no problems, only solutions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have been mainly on the guest side of the couch, because we are travelling. But we have recently had the chance to return the favour of generosity: while renting an apartment temporarily, we could offer a bed and a meal to some weary travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, we have been guests three times: one in Macon, France, one in Marrakech Morocco and one in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. We have been hosts twice while in the Canary Islands.

Interests

Benoit - Cycle touring, reading, writing, drawing, C++, aikido, stretching, meditation (although I haven't done any in a long time), and travelling of course! Michele - Cycling, circus, jazz piano, mathematics, languages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossing from Corsica to France with 5 metre waves on a 15 metre sail boat. Smoking cigars in Vinales Cuba. Skydiving. Scuba diving. Sweat lodge ceremony. Laughing so hard it hurts.

Teach, Learn, Share

Math, C++, drawing, bicycle maintenance, ... lots of stuff that we could teach and share. In exchange, we always want to learn other languages and about other cultures.
