Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I host, because I am working and I don't have a chance to travel most of my life. Thanks to Couchsurfing travel comes to my home. And of course it's a great way to meet many interesting people, to learn something new. I know it's just word, it's actually much more than that. Thanks to Couchsurfing I learned a lot about others and myself too, I think I became better person. Some people really inspired me and charged me with energy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted some very interesting people from 20+ countries. I have made new good friends and we are still keeping in touch. I was also surfing in Turkey, Iran, Ukraine and Germany.

Interests

In the beginning of 2016 I discovered my new love for piano. I am playing it like there is no tomorrow :)

In 2012 I discovered my passion for volleyball. I enjoy it very much.

I love to play miscellaneous games, starting from poker through bridge and finally boardgames. My collection of boardgames include around 20 games. I play bridge for 3 years and I belong to Vilnius bridge club. I like to stimulate my brain.

Since my university times, I was always very interested in good cinema, directors like David Lynch opened my eyes for the cinema. Lately I watch old American movies 60-80-ies.

Some time ago I became more and more interested in psychology: how we react, how we behave in certain situations, how our feelings are affected, etc. From time to time I do practical psychology courses.

I am a co-founder of Vilnius scale modelling club (the biggest in Lithuania) - my club organizes the biggest international annual modelling shows in Baltic States. I am making models from paper. It is amazing how models acquires shape over time. For me it is very creative hobby, where I find peace.

Other interests worth mentioning are history, philosophy, photography.

Some of my favorite movie directors are: David Lynch, Spike Lee Jones, Francis Ford Coppola, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Fatih Akin, Coen brothers, Werner Herzog, Jim Jarmush.
Favorite TV series: Twin Peaks and The Sopranos.

Music I like: Dead can dance, contemporary electronic and classics like Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd.

Favorite author or all times: Carlos Castaneda. Robert Bly, Tiziano Terzani. I really like Japanese authors like Kobo Abe and Haruki Murakami as well

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I used to live in a tent for 1 year

-I visited the zone of Chernobyl in 2010

-I survived the winter in Poland while studying living in a flat without heating :)
