About Me

well, first of all, I'm curious. A lot. This allows me to be as open minded as I can be, because I want to know the other person's point of view; not in a polite I'm-listening-to-you-not-to-be-rude manner, but genuinely. I'm extrovert most of the times but sometimes I like to be by myself, too. I also try to always have a second thought on things and I believe in second chances, occasionally.
I've learnt that there's beauty in every different character, so I tend to like a wide range of people, from the quiet one to the most outgoing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to meet people from all over the world, having the weird friend who does or eat weird stuff, and also to BE that friend to someone else! I think Couchsurfing gives an opportunity to see a travel in a different way, a more people-oriented way.

ultimately, I became aware that some people are using CS as a dating app, or to find a person to sleep with. I'm not that person. There are other apps to do that, right?

Interests

Books, music, travelling, art and museums, random stuff that you can't fit here in a few words, eating (eating is marvellous), discovering new places and hidden gems, watching movies and TV shows. Not really the party/disco type, I prefer to have a conversation over a drink or just wander around; I can do it if the occasion shows up or there's a particular event going on, but it's not really my cup of tea.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS: I love David Foster Wallace, Oliver Sacks, "the help" by Kathryn Stockett, Baudelaire, Conan Doyle, Jonathan Franzen, Jack Kerouac, George Orwell, Marjane Satrapi, Philiph Roth, John Williams, Douglas Adams and the galactic guide, Murakami, Elena Ferrante, Amélie Nothomb, Foer.

MUSIC: From the Smiths to Lou Reed, Bon Iver, The National, Queen, Daughter, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Pj Harvey, David Bowie, the Savages, Pink Floyd, Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire, but also classical music and movie/anime soundtracks

MOVIES and TV: I'll admit it, I'm a binge watcher. I've watched a lot of tv shows, I particularly love Sherlock, Doctor Who, Scrubs, Rick & Morty (yes, that's my kind of humour) . Some of my favourite movies are eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, lost in translation, american beauty, trainspotting, but I have still plenty of movies to see... I also like animation movies, and I'm recently discovering the anime world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- SkyWalk at the Auckland Sky Tower, held a koala in my arms and pet a kangaroo.
- Bathed into the Blue Lagoon (Iceland) in winter while it was snowing.
- Been to the Cook islands and seen so many stars I could barely spot the blue!
