About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband and I decided that we want to drop everything and go abroad about two months ago. David and I had been dating for 5 years this March when we decided to take the next big step and get married. With the anxiety of formalizing our commitment came the realization that settling down in one place may mean starting a family and that could equals not being very mobile. As a couple David and I have traveled to Peru, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and all around the U.S. and have never had the initiative. Mobility is in the heart of our relationship. Because of this, we've decided to explore the Old World together as a last step before actually starting a family and losing our ability to travel for a while. At the same time, we have talked about traveling with purpose: meeting locals, trying new flavors, seeing astonishing sites. What better way to do than with cool people who are willing to open their homes to host us? That's why we chose couch surfing.
If you see my/our profile, you may not see a lot of comments on my page. But I will say that before couch surfing was a thing, people would just crash at other's homes and have a great time without posting anywhere. My house has always been the kind of place where everyone crashes. I've hosted friends from Germany, Mexico, Spain, U.S., Venezuela, Colombia and Argentina, and have always followed the customs of my native Venezuela: treat everyone like they are family.
