About Me

I'm a physics student, and I could be a quite shy person at first (fit the scientist stereotype? I'm not a nerd kind of person though!). But I'm really willing to know other people, make new adventures and discover new things and new worlds. And that's also the reason why I'm on couchsurfing: I would like to challenge myself and to open myself to different realities other than my hometown's.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently felt the need to travel and visit different countries, to open my perspectives. I think that being a couchsurfer could be the best way to come in contact with other cultures and see the cities not just with a tourist's eye, and to share experience with people who are opened to other's experiences.

Interests

Apart from physics and science I really love music!
I play the saxophone, I've studied in conservatory for many years and I really like everything that concerns music: I play in a saxophone quartet but I'm also in the radiophonic world with a jazz programme, which is a very nice way to put together my passion for music and the opportunity to always know new musicians from my city, Milan.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to various genres of music. Some examples of my favourites: Charles Mingus, Sonny Rollins, John Zorn, Don Cherry, Steve Lacy, Stephane Grappelli, Michel Portal for jazz music. Mahler, Beethoven, Luciano Berio, Bela Bartok, Stravinsky, Nyman among classical composers, and I would cite Frank Zappa, Tom Waits, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, Fabrizio De André, De Gregori, Morphine as songwriters/groups.

One of my favourite books of all times is "The master and Margarita" by Bulgakov. I've really appreciated some Murakami boks lately, then Kundera, Salman Rushdie, Oliver Sacks, Isabel Allende, Daniel Pennac, Vargas LLosa
and many others, I'm a big reader! Recently I've started to appreciate poetry too, thanks to a friend of mine: Pessoa, Szymborska, Bukowski, Pavese.

Abouts films I really like some directors, like Woody Allen (I'm a big fan, I've seen almost everyone of his films ;)), Kubrick, Tim Burton, Alexander Payne, Almodovar, Miyazaki. If I have to chose a relaxing movie for a relaxing night, a comedy is always funny. And one of last years' films that became part of my top ten is Boyhood (even if lots of people say it's boring, it really isn't, just beautiful!).
