Overview
About Me
I grew up in Volgograd (Stalingrad in the past), Russia and moved to Moscow after graduating. Now I'm getting my Master's Degree in Linguistics and working as a tutor.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new to CouchSurfing, but I've already tried hosting a traveller and living in a family abroad. I quite enjoyed this experience cause I had an opportunity to learn more about the modern life in other countries. As an undergraduate student I had a number of courses concerning cross-cultural studies, and the most useful thing I've learnt is that I never should trust stereotypes. So it is very interesting for me to know about what people think about other countries, and what, in their opinion, others think about them, cause these things are usually so different.
I'm also especially interested in national dishes. I'm not that bad at cooking myself and I'd love to try making something new.
Unfortunately, now I can't accept guests cause I share a room with a friend of mine and there are only 2 places to sleep, but I'd love to show the city of Moscow to the travelers.
Interests
I like learning foreign languages, for now I can speak English and German, I know the basics of Spanish and I've recently started learning Danish. I also had lessons of French at school, but it's all forgotten I'm afraid.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a music fan, I listen to different styles, most of my favorite bands belong to Old School (The Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and so on), but there are also lots of modern bands I admire - Muse, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand.
In both books and films I prefer psychological dramas. As a native speaker of Russian I can tell you that it is for a reason the Russian literature is considered to be one of the best in this sense. I can advise you some really great works for reading.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am educated to teach foreign languages, but I can surely manage to teach you my native language, Russian. Moreover I know how to cook lots of traditional Russian dishes (including the famous borshch), most of which are not that difficult but really delicious.
