Overview
About Me
Self description is tricky, since perception is subjective... but I can say I'm a nature lover with deep admiration for arts and sciences, a seeker of knowledge and wisdom, a transgressor of gender roles, and a warrior for equality, human rights and ecology.
You can find me on Facebook /rise.wiser and on Instagram @rise.wiser
I hope I can someday get a camera to capture beauty better, meanwhile I keep my lousy smartphone photography out of the internet, so mostly I share selfies and memes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Right now on a bit of a hurry to find locals in the UK, but overall, to find people with a similar curiosity for diversity of cultures who want to share experiences, knowledge, and their unique view of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Stuff I can watch over and over: Some of Bojack Horseman, Daria, Rick&Morty, Leon The Professional, Orange Is The New Black, Game Of Thrones, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, lots of Disney classics but Mulan and Pocahontas, Brave and Wall-e are faves, Invader Zim, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, any video by Kurzgesagt or It's Okay to Be Smart.
My book reading is embarrassingly scarce lately compared to what I would like, and has always been a a bit all over the place, but not diverse enough. I like fantasy, science fiction and comedy.
Still there's some ones I keep going back to: Tank Girl and Hellboy, The Book Thief, Harry Potter, Lord Of The Rings, Sherlock Holmes, Poe, Verne, Orwell, Huxley, Bradbury, Palahniuk.
And music, well...tough one. From classic to hardocore to folk, celtic or pagan. Through jazz, grunge, punk, progressive, stoner, alternative and some pop and electronic. Got a thing for the 80s and 90s.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once on a trip to the south of my country, we stayed up all night in a hut by the fire, helping guard a settlement of Mapuche (native folk), who had been suffering police raids, that left their houses ruined made their livestock flee, and hurt or arrested their people. Later in the year another police raid made a young man disappear, for helping their protests. He appeared dead 90 days later, and we had rallies and protests all over the country, during which I felt very touched because I had been in the same place this guy was defending when he was taken, and had I been there when a raid happened, I could've suffered the same, just for showing up to help people whose lands are being taken by corporations.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not very aware of my skills, but I like computers and sometimes can help get them running better. I also like hearing people's ideas and giving sincere advise or critique, like listening to their music or reading their writing. I like to sing but don't know many songs most people hope to hear. I like modeling and dressing up, even performing at times, and would help anyone dress up or put on make up, and would love taking pictures of anyone who wants them. Always willing to learn about everything, but very interested in learning about waste-free living from people who practice it. Always up for sightseeing and coffee, or music and some philosophy.
I would like to share here a piece from "Nanette": "Why was it okay to pick me off the pack like that and do that to me? It would have been more humane to just take me out to the back paddock and put a bullet in my head if it is that much of a crime to be different! I don’t tell you this… so you think of me as a victim. I am not a victim. I tell you this because my story has value. My story has value. I tell you this ’cause I want you to know, I need you to know, what I know. To be rendered powerless does not destroy your humanity. Your resilience is your humanity. The only people who lose their humanity are those who believe they have the right to render another human being powerless. They are the weak. To yield and not break, that is incredible strength. You destroy the woman, you destroy the past she represents. I will not allow my story… to be destroyed. What I would have done to have heard a story like mine. Not for blame. Not for reputation, not for money, not for power. But to feel less alone. To feel connected. I want my story… heard. Because, ironically, I believe Picasso was right. I believe we could paint a better world if we learned how to see it from all perspectives, as many perspectives as we possibly could. Because diversity is strength. Difference is a teacher. Fear difference, you learn nothing. Picasso’s mistake was his arrogance. He assumed he could represent all of the perspectives. And our mistake was to invalidate the perspective of a 17-year-old girl, because we believed her potential… was never going to equal his. Hindsight is a gift. Can you stop wasting my time? A 17-year-old girl is just never, ever, ever in her prime! Ever! I am in my prime! Would you test your strength out on me? There is no way anyone would dare… test their strength out on me, because you all know… there is nothing stronger then a broken woman who has rebuilt herself. "
What I Can Share with Hosts
Seve, Lalo and I will be arriving very soon at the UK and later at Amsterdam, to explore some of the classic and the alternative beauty this places have to offer, or which they hold beneath surface level. They're mostly into music, Lalo's also into theatre, and I'm into any kind of art. We hope to catch beautiful nature walks and wonder at the history of these diverse places that have been home to so many cultures and works. If we're lucky maybe get to know the underground music scene and the lgbt+ scene, to see how alike or different they can be from the ones at home, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We'll have a beer with anyone who can share interesting stuff with us, and when it's too early for beer, we can share some of our most common native drink, an infusion called mate ("mah-te"). If you're not up for hosting us, we'd still appreciate recommendations of where to go, what to see, and where to stay (or save up a bit, since we travel on very tight budget).
FREE MOVIE ABOUT UNDERGROUND SCENE IN LA PLATA:
I will also have with me a flash drive with a movie I helped make and translated to english, made at my city to show it's greatest underground music venue, celebrating it's 10th anniversary and it's late founder by packing 60 bands into two hours of clips from gig and very informal interviews about the views on rock and music of the people from our hometown. I'll give a copy to anyone interested.
Countries I’ve Visited
