About Me

Hey, I’m Valentino and I’m 22 years old. I am from germany and I quit my job to travel through europe for half a year before starting university in Cologne. I finished school in 2021 and struggled to get a place studying film for a while, which is why I started working for about three years, which was when I decided to start this adventure I’m on right now :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is my first time on couchsurfing and a friend of mine urged me to try it out, as she’s a huge fan and had many great experiences. So here I am. I’m interested in meeting new people and making experiences.

Interests

Currently, I’m most interested in traveling and visiting interesting places. I haven’t been on vacation since 2019, so I think I really needed that.

But movies have been my main interests for almost ten years now and I love everything about them. From simply watching them to reading up on and learning about cinema history and techniques as well as the people in front of and behind the camera.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies have been my passion for almost a decade now and I have seen about 3000. I love watching movies from all genres, decades and countries. While I haven’t really tried writing/making my own projects, that’s something I’m very interested in.

I also love reading and I am a big fan of Stephen King, as well as non-fiction. Other favorite authors of mine are Angela Davis and Thomas Mann.

My taste in music is pretty varied and touches on almost every genre, although I have a soft-spot for 60s/70s rock, folk, grunge, shoegaze and punk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most recent one that came to mind immediately was this January. Together with about 15 thousand other people and some good friends from all over germany, I took an 8 hour bus to Riesa, where germany’s political nazi-party was planning to hold their party convention. Together with thousands others, I blocked streets and prevented their dirty little conference. That probably was one of the greatest weekends of my life, as I felt really useful and inspired.

What I Can Share with Hosts

For the time I am staying at your place, I can be good company and I love to be a helping hand if there’s something you need. I’m very clean and tidy too and extremely appreciative of the time I can stay somewhere :)
