About Me
Hey I’m Val.
I’m Ukrainian but mostly grew up in Germany. What I love is - something that touched the soul like art, music, books and of course interesting conversations with people. Usually I’m super spontaneous and jump into situations. As a true optimist in life I think all things happen for a reason. My biggest passion in life is analog street photography (I have an Instagram account you can check it out if you want @val.pocahonta)
I would say I’m a good listener, because I’m genuinely interested in the life’s and mindsets of people I meet.
I finished my studies a long time ago and work in a fully remote company - creating websites.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be honest when I was younger I was like : I want to travel the world and see as many places as possible. After I started traveling I realized travel is about the people you meet. And life is about the people you keep. I don‘t do couch surfing to save money - I really love to have connections with people with different mindsets, cultures learn from them and stay connected somehow.
I never take kindness and good hearted people for granted and you’ll receive also my kindness and respect in return.
Just to clarify, sadly it’s needed nowadays- I don’t see Couchsurfing as Tinder, so please no request with some back thoughts, to me that’s not the purpose of this platform. As well as I’m not your hotel, I will not host you, if you’re just saving money and don’t even read my profile. That’s not the couchsurfing spirit or a travelers mind for me.
In case you agree text me hakuna matata, so I know you read my bio and we’re on the same side with this ✌🏻

Music, Movies, and Books
From super deep movies and books to stupidly funny TV soap operas - everything
My current favorite movie that touched me - Comet (2014) .
Also favorite book currently Moon Palace from Paul Auster and an all time favorite: a brief history of time from Stephen Hawking . It’s not that I’m a physician- I read it and convert it for my self in a philosophical way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived isolated on a island in the Great Barrier Reef for 2 months without any shops, streets, phone connection and WiFi and now the craziest part - I met there Will Smith. I swear it’s true
What I Can Share with Hosts
Naturally I’m always helping people, and especially when I’m their house I can cook or help you clean up. In case you’re interested I can teach you Russian, English, German or basic Japanese (I’m currently learning it) or get you into analog photography.
