About Me

Hellooo there :) My name is Valeria, I'm half Italian and half Korean, but I consider myself more Italian since I've always been living in Italy. I've spent the majority of my life in Treviso, a city near Venice, even though my mother's family is from a seaside city, Monopoli, near Bari, where I spend all the holidays.
I did an Erasmus in Granada, Spain, which was one of the greatest experiences of my life! Earlier I've been living in Bologna, Italy, for 3 years, a very beautiful, free and a young spirit city!
After my staying in Spain (July 2020) I came back to Italy, I got graduated in Biology and now I’m studying my second degree in Human Nutrition at the University of Parma.
Then I'd like to keep studying but I still have to figure out where in the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to give it a try because a couple of friends of mine suggested it since I love traveling and meet new people! Usually when I travel I like to sleep in hostels because it's a great way to meet new people and different cultures too! But I think that with this platform you have the chance to feel the true culture of the country you are visiting.
Even though I'd really like to host someone in my flat, I'm actually sharing a flat with other students so it would be a little difficult!

Music, Movies, and Books

Talking about music, I really love almost all the generes, starting from indie, pop, trap, reggaeton, until classic music, jazz, soul, funky, rock.. Yeah all kind haha, but the majority of the time I listen to reggaeton when I'm happy, indie when I'm sad, rock when I train and Jazz when I study, I'm happy, I'm sad, and above all when I'm feeling inspired :D
For movies I'm such a romantic one, like "Love and other drugs" with which I cry every time I see it, or "Ghost", or "Friends with benefits".. Otherwise I even love old musical like "Grease", "Foot Loose", "Dirty Dancing".
But then If I want something more demanding I'd go for "Black Swan", "Shutter Island", "Pride and Prejudice", "the notebook", "The truman show" ecc.. And I'm sure I'm forgetting many more..
About books, I have to be sincere.. I'm not a great reader, even because it's very difficult that a book gets my attention for too much time, for sure I liked "Canone inverso" of Maurensig, "The girl on the train" of Paula Hawkins and the good old one "La coscienza di Zeno" of Italo Svevo. But i prefer reading scientific books, like Bressanini's ones, or scientific papers like "Science".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing thing I've done is being in a completely state of wildness with other 3 friends during "Il cammino degli dei", which is a 4-5 day walking route from Bologna to Florence sleeping in the woods in camping tends. I really enjoyed Nature and I learned to appreciate even little things, because in those days we had to live with the very essentials. Furthermore my friendship with my mates became unique, a strong bond.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well for sure I can teach some Italian, show you the best place in Bologna (If one day I can host someone), cooking some italian food (really everything, especially pasta like carbonara, amatriciana, alla norma ecc, or lasagna, or dessert like tiramisú).
I can teach you some weightlifting for sure, or in general some exercise if you want to get in shape, adding some nutrition suggestions since I really want to be a nutritionist as a future job and I'm studying for it! Same for the sport side, I'm a certified personal trainer FIPE:)
